Local photo processing
Photos you take or select are processed on this device. Face detection, foreground segmentation, cropping and JPEG compression use local resources. FotoLocal does not send photos, face-detection results or final images to FotoLocal servers and does not use your photos for model training. Detection helps framing; it does not identify people or verify eligibility under an authority’s rules.
Live camera-preview frames remain in memory for local processing; the app does not record or upload the preview video. There is no app account, advertising, cross-app tracking or separate behavioural analytics SDK. Purchases use RevenueCat as described below.
Permissions
Camera permission is used when you choose to take a photo. If you decline, you can import an image. The system photo picker supplies only the images you select. Saving to Photos requests permission to add images. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.
History and deletion
Your working edit is processed in memory. Local history keeps up to 20 final exported JPEGs, their format and export date. Older entries are removed when this limit is exceeded. The history directory is excluded from app backup; reinstalling does not restore it.
Exported JPEGs do not inherit the original GPS location or capture date. Temporary share files are cleaned when the share panel closes or the app starts again. You can clear history in settings. This does not remove copies saved in Photos, Files or other apps.
Services you choose
When you save or share, a copy is handed to Photos, Files, iCloud or your chosen app. Their rules and your settings govern synchronisation, retention and deletion. Photo processing itself does not need internet. Links to specification sources open external websites governed by those providers’ policies.
The app and your first export are free. A non-consumable one-time in-app purchase permanently unlocks future exports; there is no subscription. Apple processes payments and FotoLocal does not access payment-card details. RevenueCat processes purchase history, transaction/receipt information, an anonymous app-user identifier and necessary technical information to validate purchases, prevent fraud, restore access and provide purchase statistics. Photos, face-detection results, image-history files, names and email addresses are not sent to RevenueCat.
The free-export record is stored securely on this device and is not synchronised between devices. A successful save or completed share counts as an export; cancellation or failure does not. Deleting image history does not reset purchase access or free usage. Restore purchase recovers access according to store records.
Support and changes
Emails you voluntarily send are handled by the public support channel and its service providers. Start with your app version, iOS version and a description of the issue. Avoid sending documents, identity numbers or unredacted private portraits. Support does not automatically collect app data.
The date on this page is updated when this policy changes. Public contact details are on this site’s support page and the App Store listing.
